Bournemouthtango is firmly dedicated exclusively to the cultivation and development of social Argentine Tango and its unique social tradition. We widely open our doors in a warm welcome to all dancers in our classes and social events regardless of where they take their lessons or dance.
The origins of today’s Argentine Tango Social dance and culture can be traced back to the 19th-century social dance in the milonga.
Today, the social dance is characterized by merging traditional elements and new fashion trends to build a bridge between generations. Milonga dance events feature music from both the 20th century, as well as from modern orchestras with music firmly grounded in the tradition and sentiments of the Golden Age of Tango dance music.
Bournemouthtango hosts several social events throughout the year including monthly milonga, outdoor social dance events during the
summer month, including Beach and Garden dances which help to maintain the continuity of our dance school and social events.
Experience social dancers of all age groups provide the opportunity to pass on traditions Argentine Tango social dance etiquette to the new generations of social dancers.
Bournemouthtango is a voluntary, community and social enterprise and as such relies on the contribution and support of our members and others to
fund our social dance, community, and related activities. If you want to support Bournemouthtango in growing and improving our tango
community you can offer practical help and assistance by attending our courses and social events.
We are continually developing an exciting program for social dancing and related activities. Join us.
